Augustana University (SD) is seeking qualified applicants for an Athletics Administration Graduate Fellowship position,12-month Master’s in Sports Administration and Leadership program, averaging 15 hours per week, within our Athletics department. This position includes a 50% tuition assistance.

Athletic Administration Graduate Assistant

Augustana University (SD) is seeking qualified applicants for an Athletics Administration Graduate Fellowship position,12-month Master’s in Sports Administration and Leadership program, averaging 15 hours per week, within our Athletics department. This position includes a 50% tuition assistance.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

The graduate assistant will work closely with our athletic administrative team to assist with the operational needs of a NCAA Division II athletic department that competes at the NCAA Division I level in men’s hockey, and will receive invaluable experience working with our programs, student-athletes, coaches, and campus staff.Assist with general athletic departmental operations. Assist the department with all game operational duties to includes venue set-up and tear-down, fan engagement and management, and supervision of student and game-day workers. Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

• A bachelor’s degree is required.
• Admission into Augustana University’s Master’s program is required.
• Strong communication (written and verbal), organizational, and interpersonal skills .
• Proficient in computer application knowledge and demonstrates initiative.

Preferred Qualifications:

• A knowledge of athletic operations (i.e., compliance, game day management, fundraising, marketing, promotions) through an internship or undergraduate experience.

Interacting with students, faculty and leadership with different backgrounds and points of view and a deep appreciation of and respect for academic values and culture must be a top value of the candidate.
