TITLE: Athletics and Campus Recreation Manager

POSITION NO.: P00849

HIRING SALARY: $40, 308.22 - $44,145.62 annually; all salary calculations to start at the minimum salary

HOURS: 40 hours a week, requires working evening including some weekends and holidays

MAJOR FUNCTION: The Athletics and Campus Recreation Manager assists in providing analysis and continual assessment of athletics operations and works closely with coaches, the Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA), and the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) to ensure the College is in compliance with Title IX, the Florida Educational Equity Act, and FERPA. Communicates NJCAA by-law changes and those from the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) that impact two-year institutions to head coaches and admissions staff. Assist in developing compliance and eligibility procedures while also submitting eligibility for each team to ensure compliance with NJCAA rules. Plans, schedules, and monitors the use of all athletic facilities by the intercollegiate athletics department and community organizations. Assists coaches in scheduling and maintains a master schedule of all athletic-related events. Coordinates and manages game day operations for home athletic events, including media relations, security, ticket sales, and concessions. Supervise, direct and evaluate operations, programs and services delivered through Campus Recreation and Lifetime Sports, including fitness center/gym, aerobics/dance rooms, gym courts, personal training, health and wellness programs, and intramurals and club sports.

Primary duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Schedules and coordinate operations of the Lifetime Sports Complex. This includes, but not limited to: staffing, preventative maintenance, facility set-up, minor repairs and the compliance with standards and procedures for state, local and college policy, rules and regulations. Selects, trains, supervises, evaluates, and certifies (CPR/First Aid) all Campus Recreation, intramural, and Lifetime Sports professional, part-time and student staff.
