Calculate the cost of attendance for student athletes and process athletic grant-in-aid awards
Review student financial aid packages to ensure federal, state, institutional, and NCAA regulations are in compliance
Maintain squad lists and communicate eligibility changes to VCU Athletics
Support student-athlete aid hearings by serving as non-voting participant and notetaker
Stay current on NCAA financial aid policies and maintain related procedures

VMSDEP Program Administration:
Serve as the primary contact for VMSDEP questions and communications
Review and confirm benefit eligibility, calculate waiver amounts, and update records accordingly
Certify awards with state agencies, reconcile records, and support required state reporting
Departmental Reporting and Other Duties:
Review key financial aid reports to identify errors or needed adjustments
Assist with state reporting requirements and reconciliation efforts
Resolve duplicative benefit issues and ensure proper updates to student records
Participate in committees, workgroups, trainings, and audits as needed
Work to maintain relationships with campus partners and key stakeholders
Stay current on regulations and attend trainings and conferences as needed
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Knowledge of federal, state, and institutional financial aid regulations
Strong organizational, analytical, planning, and communication skills
Experience working with NCAA and federal financial aid programs
Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree from an accredited institution
Experience working with NCAA and federal financial aid programs
Processing experience with Ellucian Banner Financial Aid, NCAA Compliance Assistant, and state financial aid reporting portals
Other Position Details : This position has on-campus responsibilities and expectations, and is eligible for a hybrid schedule consisting of 60% on-campus and 40% remote.
Salary Range: Up to $54,806
