Job Description

Purpose of the Position:

The Athletics Announcer will provide public address or broadcast commentary at UAH athletics events, including volleyball, basketball, soccer, lacrosse, baseball, softball, and special events.Duties/Responsibilities• In-game announcing as either public address or broadcast commentary• Pregame preparation including accessing statistics, starting lineups and researching teams at competition• In-game assistance with coordinating music, promotions and advertising reads.• Assistance postgame in breaking down public address or broadcasting equipment.

Minimum Requirements:

• High school education or equivalent.• Prior history of working sporting events.• Prior history of public speaking• Effective interpersonal communication skills.• Must understand and follow all safety policies and procedures.

Desired Qualifications:

• Prior history as a public address announcer at athletics events• Prior history as a broadcast commentator at athletics events• Ability to communicate effectively with the general public, students, coaches, and administrators.• Possess excellent organizational and time management skills.
