Role Summary:
The Strength and Conditioning Intern will support the delivery and execution of training programs across 18 varsity teams, assisting in the supervision of both team sessions and open gym sessions. Key responsibilities include ensuring that athletes are training safely, using proper form, following established protocols, tracking athlete performance, and helping with data collection and testing using technologies such as TeamBuildr. The intern will also assist with maintaining the gym, including tasks like cleaning equipment, restocking supplies, and ensuring the facility is in top condition. Additionally, the intern will participate in picture taking and recording for social media and any other tasks designated by the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach.

Ability to understand and appreciate the mission of the gym and fitness center, supporting the health and wellness goals of a diverse community of athletes and staff in a dynamic and high-energy environment.
Ability to contribute to and foster an inclusive, welcoming atmosphere within the gym, promoting a positive experience for individuals from a wide range of backgrounds, fitness levels, and experiences.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to clearly explain fitness programs, equipment usage, and safety procedures to clients and gym members. Proficiency in in-person communication, with attention to detail in spelling, grammar, and message clarity.
Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment, responding to changing schedules, gym traffic, and member needs, and assisting with various tasks from administrative duties to hands-on fitness support.
Strong problem-solving abilities with the capability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and resolve conflicts or issues that arise in the gym, ensuring an efficient and safe environment.
Ability to maintain confidentiality with regard to athletes’ personal and health information, ensuring privacy is respected in compliance with gym policies and regulations.
Commitment to continuous improvement, both personally and within the gym’s operations, with a proactive mindset for proposing and implementing new ideas that enhance athlete experience, workout routines, or general gym operations.
