Responsible for the safe and timely transportation of students and employees to and from events by maintaining an orderly and disciplined bus environment (by reporting misconduct, rule violation or mechanical problems to the immediate supervisor). This is a casual (as needed) position and this posting holds 5 vacancies.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Operate vans & coach buses to transport University students, chaperones, coaches, trainers, etc. to and from athletic and student development-related activities.
- Responsible for the safety of assigned students, chaperones, coaches, trainers, etc., during transportation related activities.
- Responsible to perform and document pre- and post-trip inspections of buses and vans; must report documented, needed repairs or service work to Transportation Specialist.
- Responsible to drive bus, van, or other assigned vehicle as required, adhering to both the itinerary and the directions.
- Responsible to ensure bus is cleaned and prepared for subsequent trips when assigned trip is complete.
- Responsible to participate in training mandated by the University.
- Other duties as assigned by the VP for Administration/CFO or designee.
- Compliance Responsibilities: Read, interpret, and apply policies and procedures in assigned area; document as required by policies and procedures; maintain qualifications and certification and complete annual training as required by position.
- Follows all safety rules and regulations.
- Maintains confidentiality
Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
Minimum of one-year experience and/or training required.
Knowledge of first aid and CPR preferred.
Current physical
Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class C with passenger endorsement license is required.
Annual CDL physical and drug tests required.
Must be available for nights, weekends, and extended trips.
