Athletics Communications Coordinator assists in the daily operation, organization and oversight of the athletic department and recreational programs.

Demonstrate leadership and professional behavior when dealing with students and visitors
Maintain positive constructive working relationships with student-athletes, athletic department coaches and staff, and all members of the University community
Supervise and coordinate Athletics Communications work study students at all home and away intercollegiate contests. (15%)
Supervise and schedule the Athletics Communications Staff in all areas of game support, statistics gathering, reporting and storing, press release activity and all other related activities. Ensures statistics are accurately compiled and reported as required by Empire 8,

, media and opponents for all sports. (30%)
Nurture relationships with all media outlets as to maximize the benefit to the University of all sports related activities by the Athletic Department. Prepares articles, writes and approves press releases and highlights to maximize exposure for the University. (10%)
Contacts specific media personnel to develop feature stories on individual University athletes and teams. Approves all interviews and stories prior to submission. (10%)
Update and maintain Fisher athletic website. Writes/approves all content. (10%)
Plan and supervise the production of game day programs. Oversee the planning of recognition events including senior banquet, Hall of Fame, and other related events. (5%)
Plans, develops, approves the production of sports recruiting publications, admissions athletic brochure and scheduling cards. Ensures photos are available for media submissions and publications. (10%)

Performs duties as may be assigned by Athletic Director
Minimum requirement of a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English or Business Management. Master’s preferred. Minimum 2 years athletic administration in sports information area at the collegiate level desired.
· Ability to demonstrate interpersonal skills between students, staff, alumni and friends of the University.
· Demonstrate leadership and professional behavior when dealing with student-athletes
· Maintain positive constructive working relationship with student-athletes, athletics department coaches and staff, and all members of the University Community
· At all times promote the athletic program in a positive way
Coordinate duties and supervision of sports information work study students and staff.
Well lighted, well ventilated pleasant work area.
Must be able to be proficient in Word, Excel and able to learn other related computer programs.
Must be able to work weekends, travel, drive rental vehicles and be away from home for extended periods of time. Extensive weekends and evenings required of the job.
