The University of Utah, a member of the Pac-12 Conference, is seeking applications for an Assistant of Athletics Compliance to assist with the day-to-day operations of the University’s Division I
NCAA
compliance program.
Compliance liaison for assigned teams (3-5 teams);
Researching, writing, and issuing
NCAA
rules interpretations;
Monitoring institutional camp and clinic policies and procedures;
Assisting in the investigation and reporting of
NCAA
violations;
Preparing and submitting
NCAA
and Pac-12 waivers;
Assisting in the developing and implementing of a comprehensive rules education program for internal and external constituents;
Supervising the monitoring of Bylaw 17 Playing and Practice Season and Time Management activities;
Supervising the monitoring of Bylaw 13 Recruiting activities;
Review all promotional and donation requests for Utah Athletics;
Review athletics facility rentals;
Prepare and submit time management plans;
Assist in football game day compliance monitoring activities;
Develop and update compliance procedures through
ARMS
database;
Serve as a liaison to university offices as assigned;
Performing other projects as assigned by Senior Associate AD for Compliance.
Bachelor’s degree. One-year of full-time experience in an
NCAA
Division I compliance role; demonstrated knowledge of
NCAA
rules, regulations, processes, interpretations, appeals and governance structure; demonstrated commitment to institutional control. Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet established deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; excellent written and oral communication skills. Additionally, the candidate should demonstrate proficiency in commonly-used technological processes such as word processing, spreadsheets,

and
NCAA
applications.
One year of full-time experience in an
NCAA
Division I compliance role; demonstrated knowledge of
NCAA
rules, regulations, processes, interpretations, appeals,commonly used technological processes such as word processing, spreadsheets,

,
Master’s degree in a related field preferred.
Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.
Juris Doctorate or Master’s degree; prior experience with compliance software programs,
ARMS
, two to three years of compliance experience at either the Division I institution, Conference Office, or the
NCAA
; proven experience in working with high-profile intercollegiate sports programs.
