JOB COMPONENTS / PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Athletics Department Student-Worker is responsible but not limited to:
Assisting Dominican University’s Department of Athletics with the management of its indoor and outdoor facilities and offices.
Assisting with set-up, tear down, and event management for a minimum amount of two home competitions per semester.
Assisting Sports Information with music, camera operation for the live stream and scorer's table functions including scoreboard and official book keeping through various statistic platforms.
Maintaining professionalism when interacting with visiting coaches, teams, game officials, and all spectators.
Managing the Fitness Center, including checking-in and requesting proper identification of all patrons to the facility; cleaning the facility; organizing the weights and garbage disposal.
Managing the Igini Sports Forum, including checking-in and requesting proper identification of all patrons to the facility; maintaining facility cleanliness.
Managing the Laundry Facility, including the proper washing, scrubbing, drying and folding/hanging of all team apparel, gear, and other department inventory; maintaining the organization of team gear; and daily maintenance and cleaning of the laundry room.
Assisting with general office duties within the Department of Athletics. Responsibilities include copying, faxing, mailings, data entry, filing, phone work and other tasks which will aid in the efficiency of the Athletics department.
Assisting the Coordinator of Recreational Activities and Camps set up, tear down, and manage on-campus intramural activities
Giving Athletics tours to prospective student-athletes.
Assisting with recruiting efforts at on-campus group events; assisting with special recruiting projects.
Accepting and fulfilling other duties as assigned.
This position requires physical labor, heavy lifting at times, sitting and standing for periods of time, and it is very important that you are flexible to work various shifts. You must be willing to work weekends and nights, and uphold all the rules and expectations that come along with our department that are outlined in the Student-Worker Manual. You must be willing to work at least 6-10 hours per week for this position.
