GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:
The Athletics Digital Media Director is responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive digital media production strategy, including website, social media, video, and mobile content creation, communication and promotion for Pacific University’s Athletic Department. In partnership with the Director of Sports Information, the Athletics Digital Media Director manages the day to day operations of the Athletics Communication office to meet the needs of sport programs and student-athletes, including the oversight of student workers and interns.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Web site – Maintain and update Pacific’s Athletic Web site. Update sites with schedules, scores, game recaps and statistics after every home event. Develop relationship with the Marketing and Communications office and work to adhere to University policy and style guidelines.
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics or Associate Director of Athletics, including but not limited to, game management duties in partnership with the Sports Information Director.
SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITY:
The Athletics Digital Media Director will report directly to the Director of Athletics. The Athletics Digital Media Director will be responsible for direct supervision of all work-study students.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
A Bachelor's Degree is required. Two years in Sports Information or a related field (Journalism, Communications or Broadcasting) is required. The successful candidate should possess a broad knowledge of athletics, sports statistics and NCAA rules and procedures. Skills in photography, social media and broadcasting are a plus.
Knowledge of Macintosh and PC platforms is required. Microsoft Word and InDesign is essential in addition to knowledge of StatCrew and website maintenance. Graphic design is a plus. Salary will commensurate with experience.
