GCU is looking for a Athletics Event Coordinator II. Reporting to Event Team Supervisor, acts as the lead in supporting, organizing, and coordinating event logistics as assigned. Include leading Event Coordinator I and any Student Workers assigned with campus events.
What You Will Do:
Collaborate with organizing committees to plan the scope, format, and objectives of events, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Coordinate and manage services for events, including but not limited to:
Develop and maintain comprehensive event schedules to ensure all details are planned and executed within necessary timelines.
Schedule and coordinate team members, ensuring adequate staffing for event setup, execution, and teardown.
Ensure all aspects of assigned events are fulfilled, including contingency planning for unforeseen challenges.
Monitor event activities to evaluate participant satisfaction, staff performance, and overall success in achieving event objectives.
Mentor and provide guidance to student workers, fostering professional development and teamwork.
Organize and facilitate planning meetings, manage event logistics, and coordinate with partner departments to ensure follow-through on responsibilities.
Maintain accurate records of event details, feedback, and outcomes for future reference and process improvement.
Identify opportunities for efficiency and innovation in event coordination processes.
Coordinate with athletic teams and Game Operations to confirm schedules and venue readiness.

Manage locker room assignments, meal arrangements, and other pre/post-game logistics for visiting and home teams.
Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the event coordination team.
What You Will Have:
Bachelor’s degree preferred in a discipline related to communications, marketing, promotions or similar program from a regionally accredited institution.
Must have a valid driver license in good standing.
1-year experience in a similar or related capacity such as event planning, promotions, etc.
An equivalent combination of work experience and education may be substituted upon supervisor’s approval.
Demonstrated ability of self-motivation, effective communication, planning, organizing,
Must work varying schedules including evenings, holidays and weekends.
Must pass pre-employment background investigations.
