Communication –
The student-worker will enhance their communication skills through interactions with fellow students, coaches, athletic department staff, spectators, and members of the campus community.
Teamwork –
The student-worker will work in collaboration with other student-workers and athletic department staff towards a common goal. The student-worker will assume shared responsibilities related to their schedule and interests and will work with other team members to ensure that all shifts are covered and that the work is being done at a high level.
The Athletics Events and Facilities Assistant is a part-time position and is responsible for assisting the Internal Operations Manager and the Events and Facilities Coordinator. This position will assist with facility set-ups and tear-downs as well as game-day management. This position also has the opportunity to serve as a varsity weight room supervisor during open lift hours.
Essential Functions:
Assist with set-up and tear-down of the athletic facilities for games, tournaments, and any external rentals.
Assist with the game-day management of athletic competitions in a variety of roles including but not limited to: promotions, usher, security, floor sweeper, etc.
Enforce the policies and procedures of the athletic department to ensure safety for student-athletes, staff, and spectators.
Supervise the weight room during open lift hours throughout the week and on weekends.
Must be willing to work during the evenings and on weekends.
Must be able to follow directions and complete tasks as assigned in a timely manner.
Play a key role in the hosting of any
PSAC
or
NCAA
postseason events.
Must be a current student at Gannon University.
Must be able to work night and weekend shifts.
CPR
/
AED
/First Aid Certified
Must be able to meet the physical demands:
Must be able to lift 30lbs.
