Apply NowThe Lead Athletic Facilities Specialist will plan, perform and oversee maintenance, repairs, installations, operation, and use of the Houston Field House building, ice rink and connected parking areas. This Lead Athletic Facilities Specialist also acts on behalf of the Supervisor during his/her absence.
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years ice rink experience in sports facilities industry
Relevant combinations of education, training and experience may be considered.
• Ice Technician Certification
• Some construction background
• Valid US driver’s license
• Ability to lead and direct staff to ensure the completion of given tasks and projects
• Ability to operate a personal computer
• Ability to communicate well and possess excellent customer service skills
• Demonstrated ability to manage and operate Zamboni machine and forklift
• Knowledge of compressors, freon risks and issues of sports facility operations
• Demonstrated knowledge of the methods, tools, equipment, and materials normally used in maintenance and change over activities
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools and equipment used in the custodial and sports facility trades
• Ability to work on ladders, scaffolding, and personnel lifts
• Ability to function independently or as part of a team
• Ability to work under strict time constraints
Business Hours with weekends or evenings occasionally required
Expected hiring range:
$20.00 - $22.15 per hour
