Job Duties:

Conceptualizes, plans, and executes digital and/or print design to support the strategic objectives of the institution; creates on-brand, compelling visual assets used to inform, educate, inspire, and/or persuade.

Key Job Responsibilities:

• Works collaboratively with other creative professionals, engages in and responds to creative feedback, manages project workflow and timing, maintains files, and follows established work unit processes

• Creates, designs, and produces artwork per project specifications through various mediums

• Answers questions and provides information and problem resolution options to clients and stakeholders

• Analyzes and identifies cost effective options to meet project requirements

• Applies creative expertise within established brand and style guidelines

• Schedules logistics, secures resources, organizes, and monitors art production projects adhering to established timelines and expectations

Reports to: Director of Athletics

Full-Time: 100%, Academic Staff, 12-month ongoing appointment, 1 Vacancy

Additional duties specific to the position:

• Promote the philosophy and objectives of the athletic program; to include adhering to and enforcing all departmental policies and procedures, as well as rules and regulations of the university, governing sport conference(s), and the National Collegiate Athletic Associate (NCAA).
• Design and produce high-quality graphics and creative media for the athletic department and its programs to advance and execute the brand and creative strategies of the department and university.
• Support the content management of the athletic department social media accounts to ensure alignment of department and university marketing, branding and creative strategies.
• Assist in the development of creative concepts and integrated campaigns, while evaluating and ensuring alignment with established brand standards and visual identity guidelines.
• Assist with photography, videography, and digital needs as part of the Athletics Communication team.
• Organize and maintain digital asset libraries, including photos, templates, and design files.
• Ensure all content adheres to NCAA, governing sport conference(s), and institutional policies and guidelines.
• Provide additional departmental support to and tasks assigned by the Director of Athletics.

Other Duties:

• Complete required trainings and professional development as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of brand management and maintaining visual identity standards
• Familiarity with athletics culture, recruiting, and fan engagement strategies
• Understanding of social media platforms and content trends, particularly in collegiate athletics
• Strong visual design and storytelling skills, with the ability to create compelling, on-brand graphics
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and motion graphics/video editing tools
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently while also contributing as part of a collaborative team
• Ability to resolve complex problems and conflict management
• Ability to demonstrate effective communication skills both orally and written.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum Education: Associate’s Degree to be completed by May 31, 2026
• One year of demonstrated experience working in graphic design or related field

Desirable Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, to be completed by May 31, 2026
• Two years of demonstrated experience working in collegiate athletics with responsibility in graphic design and creative content

Compensation & Benefits: Salary range for this position is: $44,000 - $47,000 annually.
