Position Overview:
This role is responsible for recruiting and coaching golf student-athletes at Kansas
Wesleyan University.
Work Schedule/Conditions: Full-time, with flexible hours for practices, games, and
recruiting. Significant travel required for games and recruitment. Outdoor work in various
weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Coaching & Teaching: Lead practices and games, provide individual and team
coaching, and use video analysis for improvement.
• Recruiting: Recruit and retain student-athletes for the program, maintain a full
roster, and ensure adherence to KCAC, NAIA and university policies.
• Administration: Oversee student-athlete eligibility, maintain equipment and
supplies, manage the program’s budget, and supervise assistant coaches.
• Community Engagement: Lead community service projects, engage with alumni,
and represent the program at university and community events.
Performance Standards:
• Ensure a minimum roster size and achieve athletic success by maintaining a
competitive standing in the KCAC.
• Foster a positive student-athlete experience, including high academic standards
and retention rates.
• Contribute positively to the university’s overall mission and engage with the campus
and local community.
Required Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree (Master preferred).
• Certifications: First Aid/CPR, Champions of Character, Blood Borne Pathogen
training (to be completed within 60 days of hire).
• Experience: A minimum of at least one year of coaching experience and recruiting.
Head coach preferred experience with NAIA programs and five or more years of
coaching experience.

This is a full-time, exempt position with travel and physical demands involved in coaching
golf. This role requires leadership, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to
student-athlete development both on and off the field.
