About This Role:
LU Athletics is seeking a qualified candidate to fulfill the Graduate Assistant position for
Fan Experience
. This position reports to the Assistant A.D. for Marketing and Creative Services. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assist with marketing strategy to promote LU Athletics, helping to manage select social media accounts (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc.), oversee athletics kids club, and manage LU athletics community presence. Content will also be used on the department’s official website, and official app.
Roles
Create, plan and execute marketing and promotional plans to increase attendance at the athletic home events from students, faculty/staff, and external constituents for all Division I athletic teams .
Serve as main point of contact for assigned sports and events.
Assist in managing day-to-day office responsibilities as assigned.
In charge of end game presentation elements.
Responsible for sport specific marketing plans.
Coordinate the administration and management of Big Red’s Jr. Cardinals Club.
Assist with oversight and management of Athletics Marketing Student Interns.
Manage LU’s presence at community events and grassroots fan initiatives, possibly including mascot appearances or other special efforts as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Communications, Visual Arts, Sports Management or related field required
Enrollment in Lamar University Graduate Studies Program
Demonstrate strong interest and passion for Lamar Athletics
Some heavy lifting involved
Excellent organizational, problem-solving and communication skills required
Must be available to work evenings and weekends
1+ years’ experience in photography, video or graphic design.
Preferred Qualifications:
2+ years’ experience in intercollegiate athletics
2+ years’ experience in the Adobe Creative Suite
1+ years’ experience in athletics social media management
Some lifting required.
