This position will assist the Athletics/Sports Marketing Department for all ticketed athletic events. 95% of all tasks and duties will be performed on campus at the Athletic venues* (Chiles Center, Merlo Field, and Joe Etzel Field). Transportation will be provided for all off-campus events. Student employees will report to the Director of Marketing. Position will work about 4-12 hours a week, with some weeks having no hours at all due to away games. Duties performed in this position will serve to provide information to fans about the venue, opponent, team schedules, student fan group, and Kids Club. Student employees will assist with all in-game promotions, in-game atmosphere components, and set-up/break-down of events. In this role, the student employee will assist the Director of Marketing in all marketing and promotions around athletics events.
Assist and execute all in-game promotions and activities at games
Advertise and promote all home athletics events
Set-up and breakdown Fan Information table, Student Entrance table, and Kids Zone
Answer questions, provide information and assist all patrons at athletic events
Help execute and fulfill all contractual sponsorship obligations
Distribute University of Portland promotional items designed to help increase school spirit, attendance at games and events, and future ticket purchases
May perform activities as mascot, wearing costume
Other relevant duties as assigned
Must be a full-time UP student, in good academic standing and not subject to University discipline per the Student Handbook
Willingness to represent the University of Portland, and our mission and core values, in a positive manner on and off campus
Must be well organized and flexible to meet time, priority and workload demand
Must be available to work flexible hours including Pilot home games, nights, and weeken
Must have excellent customer service and be enthusiastic, fan friendly and outgoing
Must be punctual and reliable
Proficient in Adobe Illustrator.
Green Dot full training certified or willing to go through the Green Dot training.
