The Manager for Athletic Operations is an essential professional position responsible for safety, security, and cleanliness, of LSU Athletics Facilities and will assist with project management within Tiger Stadium and Football Operations along with leading prep for other Athletic Facilities when the need is apparent or requested. This position holds a great deal of influence and impact on both internal and external impressions of the Athletic Department. The Manager of Athletic Operations will be responsible for the coordination and management of services essential to ensure both events and facilities are successful and in line with the mission and standards of LSU, and will closely work with and supervise the Operations crew, which serve as an asset to all of our facility/event managers by aiding in meeting deadlines associated with facility preparation for hosting events.
50% Oversees the day-to-day operations of assigned staff, facilities, and sports within the Athletic Department including but not limited to; maintenance, upkeep, planning, and implementation of maintenance projects for the Athletic Department and its buildings. Provides estimates related to proposed work including alterations and improvement projects for the buildings and grounds within the Athletic Department. Reviews and approves invoices for departmental purchases.
20% Oversees personnel discipline, safety, training, performance evaluations and other administrative functions as necessary.
15% Oversees third party contracts for event cleanup and general maintenance.
10% Responsible for event management duties for assigned sport(s) or special events including the logistics and game/event operations coordination and management. Plan and prepare guest service and security needs for events, and develop best practice guidelines for staff. Conduct sport meetings, evaluate and communicate with coaches and support staff.
5% Advances and supports LSU and Athletics Department diversity and inclusion initiatives through personal participation in educational and developmental opportunities, as well as participation in the creation of an inclusive culture consistent with the values of LSU and its Athletics Department; Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with two years experience in Athletics Operations or a related field; Driver's license required.
Special or Physical Qualifications:
Ability to work extended days, weekends and holidays. In accordance with University PS-18, this position is considered essential and may be required to report or stay on campus in the event of emergency or closure. Due to the nature of the position and/or position responsibilities this position shall be subject to drug/alcohol testing in accordance with University Policy Statement 67; Ability to stand, walk, and lift objects up to 50 lbs.
