Position Details
The Athletic Department at The University of Tampa has a position available for an Athletic Recruiting Coordinator. Under the general supervision of the Director of Athletics, this position assists in managing all aspects of the student athlete recruitment process including the organization and administration of athletic recruitment activities and serving as the primary liaison to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and Office of Financial Aid. Some travel may be required.
Responsibilities
1. Help coaches to achieve annual recruitment goals for assigned programs (primarily athletic recruits), including engagement in consistent prospect follow-up, routine tracking procedures, and development of reports on the inquiry and applicant pools.
2. Support the recruiting efforts of athletic coaches by attending coaches’ meetings, training in new procedures, staying informed on NCAA regulations and changes, and communicating with individual coaches about support needs.
3. Plan and implement recruitment activities and strategies to cultivate and recruit prospective applicants.
4. Manage applicant pool, utilizing campus administrative software and ongoing strategic communication, including in-person appointments, phone calls, direct mail, email, and social media, all to encourage an application for admission and ultimately enrollment.
5. Counsel prospective applicants on the admissions process, financial aid information, and opportunities at the university. Respond with immediacy to the needs of the prospect.
6. Maintain a clear understanding and support of the nature of the institution and communicate this to prospective students, parents, guidance counselors and other constituents.
7. Represent and market The University of Tampa to prospective students, businesses, community groups, and other targeted audiences.
8. Contribute to the planning and execution of activities and special events designed to enhance enrollment, including on-campus visits, visit days, and orientation events.
9. Serve as a liaison with the Office of Admissions and Office of Financial Aid.
10. Inform and advise coaches and the Director of Athletics on institutional financial aid policies and procedures.
11. Coordinate the athletics scholarship estimate and award process for coaches.

12. Complete routine office work and reports related to recruitment, projections, personal schedule, travel, special programs, and professional development.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree required. A master’s degree is preferred.
• 1-2 years related admissions or sales/marketing experience is a plus.
• Working knowledge of university athletics (particularly NCAA Div. 2) preferred.
• Undergraduate leadership experience preferred.
• Willing and able to travel. Some evening and weekend work required.
• Demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of people and maintain a positive attitude.
• Ability to learn University of Tampa software programs to include Workday, admissions software and athletic department programs.
• Willingness to embrace new technologies and innovative organizational practices.

Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Summer: Monday-Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Evenings and weekends as required.
