The Back-End Data Engineer dual reports to Sports Performance and Business Strategy. The person in this role will plan, create, and maintain data architectures and warehousing, with special attention to team performance operations. This includes managing the import of existing data sources, integrating new data sources, and developing post-processing for cleaning and facilitating efficient querying of data sources.

The Back-End Data Engineer dual reports to Sports Performance and Business Strategy. The person in this role will plan, create, and maintain data architectures and warehousing, with special attention to team performance operations. This includes managing the import of existing data sources, integrating new data sources, and developing post-processing for cleaning and facilitating efficient querying of data sources.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Implement data hygiene practices, including combining, cleaning, and enhancing raw data from disparate sources into analytics ready format. Assist in maintaining documentation of program-wide development processes. Manage issue tracking within database, data pipelines, and manage storage. Protect operations by keeping information, data, and analyses confidential using a graded access process. Confirm all program and application operations by conducting regular tests.
Design, develop, deploy, and manage data platform architecture and integration strategies.
Maintaining comprehensive documentation of database structures, procedures, and standards.
Build and maintain
ETL
or
ELT
processes across multiple data sources that ensure process standardization and integrity. Issue optimized queries for use in stakeholder-facing tools like dashboards and other reporting mediums.
Bachelor’s degree (4 years) in computer science, data engineering, or related field
Experience in a variety of programming languages (Java,
SQL
, Python).
Proven experience with data in various forms (such as relational
SQL
, NoSQL,
JSON
, unstructured data environments).
Experience creating data pipelines (e.g.,
API
integrations) and forming database architecture.
2+ years experience in data engineering or data operations roles managing production of data pipelines and modeling.
Experience with cloud computing platforms like
AWS
, Snowflake, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
