JOB SUMMARY:

The Athletics Assistant serves in a variety of ways to help make Boyce College Athletics and HRC Intramural events run excellently and smoothly.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

The employee in this position will have some or all of the following essential job functions, depending on game-to-game personnel needs:

Game Day Roles:

• Works the ticket table and cash handling
• Shags balls during warm-ups and during games
• Helps set up and take down Boyce Athletics Events
• Attends all scheduled CPR trainings and helps work Fall Festival
• Attends staff meetings led by the Game Day Manager

Game Day Roles:

• Works the ticket table and cash handling
• Shags balls during warm-ups and during games
• Helps set up and take down Boyce Athletics Events
• Attends all scheduled CPR trainings and helps work Fall Festival
• Attends staff meetings led by the Game Day Manager

Intramural Roles:

• Assist in refereeing intramural sports and Boyce Athletics games
• Assist in scorekeeping
• Explain and enforce Health and Recreation Center policies and procedures when necessary
• Sweep the gym floor prior to games
• Instruct guests in proper performance mechanics of an activity to minimize health risks and maximize performance
• Set up and tear down for intramural sports and Boyce sports
• Attend intramural program meetings, CPR training, CPP training, locker clean-out, and in-service meetings as scheduled

Performs other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

EDUCATION:

The person in this position should have a high school diploma.

EXPERIENCE:

Experience in athletics is preferred but not required.

SUPERVISION:

The person in this position will report to the Director of the Health and Recreation Center and the Coordinator of Intramurals and Game Day.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The person in this position will work in an athletic gym and recreational environment.

EQUIPMENT:

The person in this position will use the following equipment: various game day equipment related to athletic events.
