This position is responsible for the day-to-day management and oversight of the Athletics Department budgets, including managing travel, budgets and employment for the Athletics Department. Ensures that the department follows regulations and/or guidelines established by the University relating to budget related matters.
Establishes and maintains procedures to ensure timely budget submission and status reviews throughout the fiscal year, prepares budget reports, reconciles accounts and oversees Department purchasing.
Responsible for gathering data, completing and submitting athletics data to NCAA, Lone Star Conference and others as requested.
Collaborates with the Athletics Compliance Office to ensure data is accurate and reports are filed timely.
Monitors and reports on scholarship awards in conjunction with the Athletics Compliance Officer.
Partners with Human Resources to ensure that all personnel actions are processed in accordance with policy, procedure and deadlines.
Assists the Head Athletic Trainer on all athletic insurance budgetary matters.
Assists with seamless communication with appropriate college offices for efficient processing of department’s business transactions.
Oversees all athletic summer camp financial operations.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree
Experience with financial information systems.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree
Previous experience in intercollegiate athletics.
Experience with the fiscal management and daily operations of intercollegiate athletics and/or state or local government entities.

Schedule
Generally, the normal work hours for the university are Monday through Thursday, 7:30 – 5:30 pm; Friday, 8:00 am – 12:00 pm with a one-hour lunch. The individual holding this position may need to be available early morning, evening, and on weekends to meet the needs of the department. Hours worked may differ with some departments.

Physically able remain seated, frequently to continuously.
Able to remain standing up to 15% of the time.
Possesses dexterity abilities required to perform job duties including extensive keyboard work, operating office equipment, performing filing, and other job-related responsibilities that include extensive wrist and hand movement.
