PURPOSE
Under general supervision, provides staff support and coordination of a variety of business activities requiring independent judgement, including reviewing business documents and assisting in developing, monitoring, and reporting accounts and budget data with limited supervision. This position serves as the primary liaison between the athletics department and financial, payroll, contracts office, procurement and travel, human resources, and Office of General Counsel, and manages all tasks and responsibilities that flow from those areas.
RESPONSIBILITIES
FUNCTIONAL AREA 1: BUDGET MANAGEMENT
PERCENT EFFORT: 45%
Reviews and audits reconciliations of all accounts.
Develops, monitors, and reports budget activity. Prepares complex monthly and annual financial reports.
Coordinates annual fiscal year closing activities and drafts new fiscal year plans. Coordinates fiscal activities with little direct supervision. Proposes solutions to complex financial problems.
Develops budget revisions, credit revisions, for all athletic accounts.
FUNCTIONAL AREA 2: STAFF SUPPORT
PERCENT EFFORT: 35%
Trains staff on new and existing business procedures and interprets policies and regulations for staff.
Manages hiring and training of business staff and/or student workers and may provide supervision.
Oversees all employment MOUs and contracts for coaching staff by serving as primary liaison with OGC.
FUNCTIONAL AREA 3: TRAVEL & PURCHASING MANAGEMENT
PERCENT EFFORT: 20%
Serves as an approver for all athletic travel requests in Concur.
Serves as an approver for all athletic and purchasing reports in Concur.
Develops, monitors, and reconciles all athletic travel and purchasing budgets.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree.
Four (4) years of related experience.
Additional education and/or experience may be considered as a substitute for the minimum qualifications: High school diploma/GED and eight (8) years of related experience, Associate’s degree and six (6) years of related experience, OR Master’s degree and two (2) years of related experience.
Knowledge of Microsoft office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Adobe Acrobat, Word processing and spreadsheet applications, interpersonal and communication skills, planning and organization skills, ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree
Experience working in Division I intercollegiate Athletics.
SALARY: up to $55,414.08/annually, approximately
