Position Profile

The successful candidate will be assisting the Director in instructing and organizing all aspects of the Sports Performance/Strength and Conditioning Program for assigned sports including training, technical supervision, evaluation and preparation for practices and competition. The incumbent’s duties will include but are not limited to; assist Director in the overall operations of the Mike Knapp Weight room including maintenance, ordering equipment and inventory; assist with the organization and implementation of the Sports Dietician program currently established; provide supervision and professional scheduling and staff coverage. The successful candidate must maintain professional certifications established by the NCAA.

Due to the nature of events, flexibility in work schedules is required.

Applicant Evaluative Criteria

Applicant profiles and supplementary materials will be evaluated for appointment based on the following:

Education:

All applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or University.

Experience and Training:

• Three (3) years’ experience in a collegiate Strength and Conditioning program.
• CSCS or SCCC and CPR / AED certifications.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Nutrition with student-athletes.
• Demonstrated skill in Excel, Word and PowerPoint programs.

Ideal Candidate

• Master’s degree in Exercise Science or relevant field.
• Division I Strength and Conditioning experience at the collegiate level.
• Demonstrated experience with designing and implementing a Strength and Conditioning program for Football, Baseball and/or Swimming.

Compensation and Employee Benefits

In accordance with the Connecticut State University American Association of University Professors (AAUP) Collective Bargaining Union Contract, compensation for the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach is at the rank of a Coach A for 2024-2025.
