The Assistant Sports Dietitian is responsible for providing comprehensive sports nutrition-related care and education to the student athletes of a diverse campus community. The primary responsibility is to provide sports nutrition services including coaching on performance nutrition, individual assessment and counseling for medical nutrition therapy, and team education for all varsity athletes and men’s club Rugby under the direction and guidance of the Clinical Sports Dietitian in conjunction with the Director of Performance and the Director of Athletic Medicine.
The Assistant Sports Dietitian will work closely with the Clinical Sports Dietitian, Performance Coaches, Team Physicians, and Athletic Trainers to meet the needs of and provide an exceptional experience to the student athletes.
The Assistant Sports Dietitian may be asked to provide expertise and input to the campus community. They will also work collaboratively with campus partners, including the Wellness Dietitian - Campus Dining, to provide appropriate and comprehensive guidance and resources to all student-athletes.

Essential Qualifications
· 1+ years exeperience and a Bachelor’s degree in clinical nutrition, food and nutrition, or related area, granted from a US regionally accredited college or university.
· Completion of a coordinated and/or didactic program in dietetics and supervised practice program approved by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE) of the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics.
· Active registration on the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
· Certification/Licensure as required by state of practice.
· 1 year of clinical skills with previous sports nutrition and/or eating disorder experience.
· Strong interest in working with sports nutrition, eating disorders, and obtaining hours for CSSD (Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics).
· Proven experience with self-directed, forge partnerships, and collaborate across discipline
· Be knowledgeable in principles and methodologies (e.g., Plan-Do-Study-Act, Root Cause Analysis, measurement, data collection, and analysis) needed to support and lead Quality Improvement projects and activities and/or willing to attend UHS-based Quality Improvement basic training within first 6-months of hire.
· Respects the cultures and identities of others.
· Demonstrates curiosity and open mindset regarding those of different identities and cultures.
· Demonstrates a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Preferred Qualifications
· 1-2 years clinical outpatient experience delivering individual nutritional care for: disordered eating, weight management, diabetes, lipid disorders, food allergies, and gastrointestinal issues/diseases.
· 1-2 years sports dietetics experience in the collegiate and or/professional setting.
· CSSD (Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics).
· Training in health equity and other diversity and inclusion topics.
· Familiarity with total work systems (such as the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, and Baldrige National Quality Program); and reviewing and analyzing data.
