The candidate will provide medical coverage to intercollegiate athletes as assigned by head athletic trainer. The position may require night and weekend hours as well as travel. The position will also have additional administrative duties as assigned.
Master’s degree in Athletic Training or related field; Board of Certification recognition as a certified athletic trainer; eligibility to meet Ohio athletic trainers’ licensure.
Minimum 2 years athletic training experience.
25% – Consultations/Evaluations:
Recognize and evaluate injuries and illnesses and determine proper course of action. Assist with pre-season physicals.
Document all injuries and illnesses, schedule appointments as necessary.
25% – Treatment/Rehabilitation:
Coordinate treatment protocols with team physicians. Implement return to play protocols. Document all treatments and rehabilitation.
25% – Event Coverage/Travel:
On site coverage for various sporting events throughout the year. Provide both game and practice as assigned. Travel with team as assigned. Weekend and evening along with holiday coverage required.
25% – Administrative/Physician Clinics:
Assist with record keeping of injuries, evaluations and treatments. Uphold
OSHA
standards in all athletic training rooms. Coordinate scheduling of various physician clinics for all student athletes. Assign staff to operate each weekly clinic. Work with medical assistant to schedule all testing and procedures of student athletes.
Various hours of work are required due to practices and competition.
Extensive travel due to competitions.
