| Knowledge Skills and Abilities |
- Knowledge of sports rules and regulations
- Knowledge of CPR/AED and emergency medical procedures
- Good communication skills, verbal, written and interpersonal
- Proficient computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong leadership and managerial skills
- Ability to work in a diverse environment of student athletes, coaches and administrators
- Ability to learn and utilize a variety of technological tools and applications pertaining to athletic training
- Ability to effectively prioritize responsibilities and multi-task
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

| Essential Job Functions |
- Plans, develops and implements the athletic training program, including prevention, assessment, rehabilitation and treatment of injuries
- Manages an appropriate health care facility for student athletes, with properly working equipment, materials and supplied required to comply with NATA standards
- Provides and coordinates athletic training services
- Maintains accessibility, either in person or by electronic communication, during practices and games
- Assists in the referral process for athletes to access advanced medical emergency, diagnostic, surgical and rehabilitative care
- Communicates with coaches, parents/guardians regarding the status of athlete’s health
- Maintains detailed medical records of services rendered
- Assists with the coordination and implementation of pre-participation physical exams

| Qualifications |
Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine or related field Master’s degree preferred
Two (2) years’ experience as a Certified Athletic Trainer at high school or intercollegiate level
|
| Licensing and Certifications |
First Aid/CPR/AED Certification (or ability to achieve these certifications within 30 days of hire)
Valid Mississippi Driver’s License |
