Job Description: In the clinical setting the ATC is responsible for the administration of patient rehab treatment regimens developed under the direct supervision of a licensed therapist. The treatment shall be rendered according to the accepted legal parameters governing the therapy professions in the state of KY. In addition to the direct supervision of client programming, ATC will assist with pertinent clinical research, interdisciplinary staff cross training, development of innovative treatment methods relating directly to rehabilitation and its effectiveness in promoting positive patient outcomes. This could include education/consultation and presentations to community-based customers. ATC will practice by preventing, recognizing, assessing, managing, treating and reconditioning of athletic injuries under the direction of a licensed team medical doctor for specified and contracted schools. ATC will record findings of all evaluated athletic injuries. Recommendations will be made based on findings to the corresponding coaches, athletic director, team physician, and/or parent for further care or referral. ATC will consult with coaches, for education, organization and implementation of care and conditioning of the school’s athletes. ATC consults with the coaches and Athletic Director on the safety of the athletic facilities. Other responsibilities include education and counseling through the public on matters related to athletic training and/or wellness. School coverage will be provided contractually for a specified number of days/hours per week, including game and practice coverage.
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Athletic Training.
