Championship Assistant
Providence College has been selected as a host for the 2025 NCAA Division 1 Men’s Basketball Championship First and Second Rounds to be played at the Amica Mutual Pavilion in Providence, RI. The Athletic Department seeks a highly motivated individual to fill an 17 month internship to assist in all facets of preparation for the event. The internship will begin in January 2024 and would conclude in May 2025.
The individual will assist the Tournament Director, Tournament Manager, Media Coordinator and Facility Manager in all aspects of preparation. The individual will attend all meetings held by each of these individuals, as well as any seminars and/or preparation sessions held by the NCAA. Additionally, the candidate will attend/work all Providence College men’s basketball games held at the Amica Mutual Pavilion, in an effort to gain familiarity with the venue and staff.The candidate will assist the administrative team listed above in the following areas (including, but not limited to): functions, meetings, schedule of events, media lodging, transportation, facilities, games management, financial administration, merchandising, licensing promotions, logos/look, tickets and correspondence with participating institutions and NCAA personnel. Additional duties will be assigned as necessary.

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution, preferably in Sports Management or a related field. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks at once. Ability to communicate and interact effectively with the Providence College community. Willingness to work nights and weekends.
