Head Cheer Coach – Part Time

The Cheer Coach is responsible for all aspects of the program and is committed to the
academic and overall mission of the University. The coach is responsible for coaching,
recruitment and retention of student athletes, budget management, scheduling,
fundraising, and the supervision and evaluation of student athletes and assistant coaches.

Qualifications are:

• High school graduate or equivalent, Bachelor’s degree preferred
• 3 years of cheer coaching experience required; collegiate coaching and/or cheering

experience preferred

• Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable by Brescia insurance.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities are, but not limited to:

• Responsible for all aspects of the cheer team
• Adhering to Brescia University, Rivers States Conference, NAIA, and any other

appropriate governing body policies and procedures

• Coaching, mentoring, and providing leadership to student-athletes for a

competitive and positive experience

• Hiring, supervising, and evaluating assistant coach and program volunteers.
• Engaging in fund-raising and marketing for the program in collaboration with

Institutional Development department

• Coordinate and supervise practices and strength/conditioning workouts
• Arrange all team travel plans; will travel with team including overnight stays
• Maintain an inventory of team supplies and equipment
