Spirit Program Director/Head Coed Cheer Coach

The United States Air Force Academy Athletics Department seeks highly qualified applicants for the position of Spirit Program Director/Head Coed Cheer Coach. This is a full-time position and reports jointly to the Director of Athletics and CEO of the Air Force Academy Athletic Corporation (AFAAC).

The Spirit Program Director/Head Coed Cheer Coach is responsible for leading, instructing and providing Coed coaching expertise to Division I competitive cadet-athletes for the Air Force Academy Spirit Program. Coaching and providing individual instruction to all members of the varsity and Junior Varsity cheer and dance teams. Promote Academic excellence and Character Development to future Air Force Officers.

Successful candidates will be those that have extensive knowledge of USA Cheer guidelines for safety, demonstrated experience and success in coaching Collegiate Coed Spirit programs. Essential qualities expected of every staff member include the personal attributes of integrity, cooperation, initiative, and organizational management. Successful candidates will have a strong commitment to undergraduates demonstrated excellence in developing character/leadership qualities on and off the field.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities.TheEmployee willaccomplish thedutiesandresponsibilitiesas theSpirit Program Director asagreed uponwiththeAFAAC CEO andDirector of Athletics.TheEmployee willfullysupportthemissionand objectives oftheAirForceAcademy, Departmentof Athletics andtheAFAAC.TheEmployee will helpdirect and beresponsible forthe operationoftheU.S.AirForceAcademyIntercollegiate Spirit Program,toinclude,but not be limited to, the following:

  • Directing all activities of the Cheer, Dance & Mascot team and staff.
  • Supervision and oversight of a part-time Dance Team Coach
  • Coaching and providing individual instruction to all members of the Cheer & Mascot Team.
  • Serving on national committees if the opportunity arises.
  • Direct the acquisition of all equipment, supplies and uniforms with the equipment manager.
