The Chief Engineer / Broadcast & Video Operations will work as a member of the Broadcasting & Production Unit within the Maryland Athletic Department and report to the Assistant AD of Broadcast. This position will provide support for TerpVision, B1G+ and In-Venue Experience productions, as well as maintaining and servicing all broadcast equipment and infrastructure at Maryland Athletics Venues. Will work with the Assistant AD of Broadcast and Video Operations to oversee day to day operations with, but not limited to, Control Rooms, Video Board and audio system maintenance, service contracts, and setup and strike of shows.
The Chief Engineer / Broadcast and Video Operations serves as the Engineer in charge (
EIC
) for multiple broadcast control rooms and athletic venue fiber and cable infrastructure used for TerpVision and B1G+ productions. Provide input and support of live events for TerpVision, B1G+ productions, and TV Vendors onsite. Maintain equipment inventory, including computer equipment, software and hardware throughout video production facilities. Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on audio/visual equipment located in athletics offices, athletic venues and broadcast control rooms. Assist with outside remote broadcast partners for Athletics venues. Assist with set-up, operation and strike of remote and studio broadcast productions. Additional responsibilities include assisting in designing, developing and implementing future venues AV systems with integration to the Broadcast Centers.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree; or 5+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in broadcast engineering and/or remote production engineering experience.
Experience:
Experience with installation, maintenance, and operation of technical broadcast control rooms/trucks, video board maintenance and operation, and stadium audio speakers/systems.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Exhibit strong work ethic, ability to work in a team setting, and have a desire to work in collegiate athletics.
Ability to work outside of typical business hours as needed, potentially including but not limited to evenings, weekends, and holidays depending on event schedules..
