Position Overview

The University of Denver is seeking a dedicated and experienced Club Alpine Ski Team Coach to lead and develop our alpine ski team. The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of coaching experience in alpine skiing and possess strong leadership and organizational skills. The coach is required to attend all off-campus practices, trainings, and competitions and must be available throughout the academic year, especially during the winter session.

This is a part-time, non-benefited position not to exceed 1,000 hours in a calendar year.

Essential Functions

  • Plan, organize, and conduct off-campus practice sessions to enhance athletes' skills, techniques, and overall team performance in alpine skiing.
  • Develop and implement effective training programs and competition strategies.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to student-athletes, supporting their academic and athletic development.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive team environment that promotes sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth.
  • Manage competition-day operations, including athlete preparation, in-race adjustments, and post-race analysis.
  • Accompany the team to all training sessions, practices, and competitions.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all team members during practices, training sessions, competitions, and travel.
  • Communicate regularly with club officers and the Student Program Manager regarding team activities, schedules, and administrative matters.
  • Maintain compliance with University policies and guidelines related to club sports.
