The opportunity

Southern New Hampshire University’s traditional campus is seeking a Club Hockey Assistant Coach. The Assistant Coach will assist the Head Coach in instructing the club according to the skill level of the club members in order to develop and improve skills ranging from beginner to advanced.

Essential duties and responsibilities of this position include the following:

• Assist head coach in coaching/instructing the club according to the SNHU rules and all applicable associations as set forth by the Sports Club Handbook
• Understand all emergency and safety procedures pertaining to equipment, rental and travel management in accordance with the Sports Club Handbook
• Attend and conduct all practices and games in a professional, safe and responsible manner

• Understand all emergency and safety procedures pertaining to equipment, rental and travel management in accordance with the Sports Club Handbook
• Attend and conduct all practices and games in a professional, safe and responsible manner
• Support and give guidance in recruiting new members to participate and join the Club
• Responsible for attending all practices and competitions
• Arrive on time and organize practice sessions
• Assistant Coaches should instruct all participants on proper technique and ways to improve in the given sport
• Assistant Coaches will serve as chaperones for all travel games and must act in accordance with all travel guidelines as set forth by the Office of Student Involvement

Maintain current CPR/First Aid certification

Minimum Qualifications:

High School diploma and 1 year of coaching experience is desired.

Experience working and managing a team at a competitive level.

USA Hockey Coach certified.

Work Hours:
Will depend on length of season. Week nights and weekends will be needed.

Compensation

The hourly pay range for this position is $12.00 - $29.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations.
