General Description (Purpose and Function):
The Coaching Fellowship for Women’s tennis will assist the Director of Men’s and Women’s Tennis/Head Coach and Assistant Coach in women’s tennis with the coaching, management and administration of the tennis program. The fellowship is intended to provide experience in the coaching profession. This role is a temporary 10-month position receiving compensation in the form of a monthly allotment. Coaching fellows are permitted to engage in all aspects of coaching, participate in the management and administrative aspects of the tennis program and participate in on-campus recruiting activities. Coaching fellows are not permitted to engage in off-campus recruiting activities.
Assist Director of Men’s and Women’s Tennis/Head and Assistant coaches with all aspects of practice sessions and workouts. Assists in coaching during athletic events. Attends coaches’ preparatory meetings and implements competition strategies. Coaching fellow will work at the direction of the head tennis coach and perform any coaching duties as assigned by the Head Coach.
Develops a comprehensive and functional knowledge of the sport and maintains thorough and continual familiarity with all applicable University and NCAA rules and regulations.
Assist Head Coach and Assistant Coach with any management or administrative needs.
Complete special projects as assigned by the head or assistant swimming coach.
Responsible for maintaining compliance with NCAA, Atlantic Coast Conference, institutional and departmental policies and procedures.
