Apply NowBachelor's Degree in communications, journalism, public relations, graphic design, or related field. At least two years of experience in communications and sports information/media relations. Relevant combinations of education, training and experience may be considered.
Ability to utilize and prioritize when covering multiple tasks which occur simultaneously Demonstrated oral and written communication skills. Planning, organizing and effective time management skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet established goals and objectives. Ability to anticipate and solve problems. Strong writing skills, computer experience, knowledge of web site maintenance Knowledge of NCAA, ECAC and Liberty League rules. Willingness to work long hours including nights and weekends.
Non Standard Shift: 15-20 hours per week The Communications Assistant role is a fixed-term position providing vital support to the Athletic Department's communication and events operations. With a commitment of 15-20 hours per week, the schedule may vary weekly, primarily centered around game-related activities. The position involves a mix of on-site and remote work, allowing flexibility in completing office tasks from home. The nature of the role embraces the dynamic schedule of athletic events, resulting in occasional irregular hours. While the core commitment is part-time, the expectation is for the individual to be available for events, often occurring during evenings and weekends. The workload may fluctuate week-to-week, with a focus on game-related responsibilities. This fixed-term position is anticipated to extend until approximately June 30, 2024, providing an opportunity for the Communications Assistant to contribute to the department's initiatives and gain valuable experience within the specified timeframe.
Regular overnight travel is required (up to 25%)
