At St. Ambrose we believe in the transformative power of dance. Our national-championship dance program is dedicated to nurturing students' artistic expression, technical proficiency, and passion for movement. As part of our commitment to excellence, we are seeking a dedicated and dynamic competitive dance coach to lead our talented dancers to continued excellence.
Responsibilities include:
Develop and implement comprehensive training programs for the dance team, focusing on technique, choreography, and performance quality.
Lead engaging and motivating practice sessions, rehearsals, and workshops that inspire students to reach their full potential.
Provide constructive feedback and guidance to dancers to support their growth and development.
Collaborate with faculty and staff to coordinate performances, competitions, and other dance-related events.
Recruit a representative number of dancers each year for both the competition squad and the performance team.
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that celebrates diversity and promotes teamwork and camaraderie among dancers.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Dance, Performing Arts, or related field
Extensive experience as a dancer and/or choreographer, with a strong background in various dance styles and techniques.
Proven track record of coaching or teaching dance to individuals or groups of all ages.
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate rehearsals and performances.
