Job Summary

The coordinator for athletic compliance and community service is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operation of the Compliance office. This position is also responsible for initiating, organizing and managing community service for the Athletic department.

Essential Job Functions and Performance Indicators

The intent of this job description is to provide a representation of the types of duties and level of responsibility that will be required of positions given this title. Job Responsibilities and Execution

• Administers recruitment activities including telephone calls, contacts, evaluations, unofficial visits and official visits
• Manages playing and practice season information related to countable athletically related activities (CARA), playing and practice season declarations and dates of competition
• Maintains student-athlete information in various NCAA and institutional databases
• Coordinates all medical hardship waivers
• Coordinates community outreach efforts throughout the area
• Assists in the review and audit of procedures on a regular basis to ensure compliance systems are operating effectively
• Assists with the processing of secondary violations
• Conducts all sports pre-participation and summer compliance meetings, organizing rule education sessions and materials
• Presents at local high schools and clubs for NCAA education
• Assists with roster management
• Maintains joint responsibility for the interpretation and enforcement of NCAA rules and regulations

Communication, Teamwork and Collaboration

• Interacts with community partners through events and service projects
• Serves as initial contact for recruiting, playing and practice season, medical hardships and NCAA eligibility center
• Assists in developing, implementing and monitoring all policies and procedures for recruiting, amateurism and playing and practice seasons
• Establishes effective communication and involvement with the community and university partners

Job may require other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications – An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered. Additional requirements may be designated by position.

• Bachelor’s degree
• Master’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred
• Juris doctorate degree from an accredited college or university preferred
• Experience working with division I athletics preferred
