The Virginia Tech Athletics Coordinator / Marketing & Fan Development, will support the marketing department’s efforts for fan and student engagement initiatives, working to create memorable and unique experiences. This position will report to the Director / Marketing and Fan Development, within the Brand Advancement team with the ultimate goal of implementing compelling fan engagement initiatives, generating revenue, driving attendance and building brand affinity.
Responsibilities include:
Primary marketing leads for sports including men’s and women’s soccer, volleyball and swimming & diving.
Secondary marketing leads for Men’s Basketball, Women’s Basketball, Baseball and Softball, assisting with driving revenue and attendance in these areas.
Work in conjunction with marketing staff to execute pregame fan zone at each home football game.
Staff oversight of student interns working directly with men’s and women’s tennis programs.
Develop and oversee all facets of the Hokie Kids’ Club to continue to drive revenue and affinity for the Hokies.
Collaborating with various stakeholder groups both on campus and in the community to promote attendance and engagement at athletic events.
Contribute to management of undergraduate student interns both in the office and at events.
Develop compelling fan and student engagement initiatives with the goal of creating memorable and unique experiences for fans and student-athletes.
Develop and implement comprehensive external plans detailing efforts and goals to increase attendance, promote programs, engage the community and elevate the fan, student and student-athlete experience.
Collaborate with the In-Venue Experience team on ideation and execution of game production including but not limited to promotions, giveaways, video, music and crowd engagement. Emphasis will be placed on creating memorable and unique experiences for fans and creating an advantage for our student athletes.

Required Qualifications
Experience working in a marketing and fan experience atmosphere.
Experience developing and executing written marketing plans.
Ability to think creatively.
Commitment to diversity and inclusion.
Ability to work effectively with others.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office and similar computer programs.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in marketing or a related field.
