Specific duties include: Generate and share video content for use in promotional videos on social media platforms Provide technical and creative support for video board at UMBC basketball and volleyball contests Assist in the creation of video for use on video boards in UMBC arena Archiving: create and maintain a library of video clips for future use and coordinate footage sharing with local television stations, conference video department and other schools Other video production services: provide video production services to America East Conference and NCAA, including individual game highlights, interviews, features and video headshots of individual athletes Assist with video production services to America East Conference for postseason tournaments hosted at UMBC -- this includes streaming contests, duplicating and sharing video with other schools in competition, providing highlights and postgame interviews to the conference website for all games in tournament Record, when necessary, and edit postgame highlights for all 17 sports for use on web and social media Produce appropriately branded departmental and sport-specific graphics to be used on UMBC Athletics' social media channels and websites Other duties as assigned
Bachelor's Degree One year experience in digital video production, video editing and computer-based editing; experience with all current social media platforms and an in-depth understanding of sports and college athletics Photography and graphic design experience; video shooting and editing skills (GoPro, DSLR, Sony ENG cameras; organizational and digital archiving skills Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, etc.) and Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) Knowledge of basic live sports broadcasting. use of camera angles, basic lighting and audio recording skills and graphics software; knowledge of digital video production equipment and techniques used for podcasting Knowledge of streaming media platforms such as YouTube and Vimeo and live streaming platforms including Facebook Live and Instagram Familiarity with Statcrew or NCAA Live Stats software
It is preferred that the successful candidate will have one year of experience (may be while as a student) working in an intercollegiate athletics communications or video department
