The Coordinator of Athletic and International Student Support will serve as a main point of engagement on matters related to academic compliance, support services, and programs aimed at creating a high quality, streamlined experience for international students and student athletes. With a proactive approach to the planning, implementation, and administration of programs and interventions, the Coordinator of Athletic and International Student Support is focused on increasing international student and student athlete success and retention at FPU. 

Essential Duties related to International Students: 

• Guide students on university academic policies and procedures, degree requirements, registration, and other academic issues particularly as it relates to F-1 non-immigrant Visa compliance. 
• Coordinate academic programming that supports the unique academic needs of international students including, but not limited to: pre-arrival preparation, orientation, academic acculturation, and other activities that support international student academic success on campus.

• Serve as Principal Designated School Official (PDSO) or Designated School Officer (DSO) maintaining all rules and regulations set forth by the US Department of Homeland Security and US Department of State for hosting international students. Training on support for international students, as required by the Department of Homeland Security, may be provided, if needed.

Essential Duties related to Student Athletes:

• Mentor and monitor student athletes academic progress toward graduate and NCM eligibility by providing academic support services.
• Develop programs that support and highlight academic accomplishments of international students and student athletes. 
• Participate in on-campus recruiting activities with prospective student athletes and their families. 

Additional Duties:

• Assist admission team in both in-person and virtual international recruitment and yield events, including signature events of Open Houses and Step Days. 
• Assist in maintaining appropriate records to evaluate the progress of students utilizing services and the success of those services as provided to them, including set up and use of tutoring wconline account web platform for scheduling appointments and maintaining records.  
• Develop and implement internal measures and/or reports which inform the University administration of the status, progress, and outcomes of learning assistance programs. 
• Assist as needed in the planning and offering of workshops for faculty, staff and administrators addressing specific areas of concern related to academic support. 

Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor's degree with 5 years working in a similar capacity at a university/college or high school level required.  Masters degree with 3 years working in a similar capacity at a university/college or high school level preferred.  Training on support for international students, as required by the Department of Homeland Security, may be provided, if needed.
