Job Description

Are you passionate about sports, storytelling, and building a strong brand? Viterbo University invites applications for the full-time Coordinator of Athletics Communication role within our dynamic Athletics Department. This 12-month position offers an exciting opportunity to lead media relations, marketing, promotions, and digital content efforts for our athletic programs. As a key member of our team, you'll manage everything from game-day statistics and post-event coverage to website management, social media strategy, and event promotions - helping to showcase and celebrate the achievements of V-Hawk student-athletes on campus and in the community.

Responsibilities:

  1. Compile contest statistics for all home athletic events and submit to local media and CCAC and NAIA.
  2. Write and publish post-event recaps, social media posts, and press releases for athletic events.
  3. Communicate regularly with local television, newspaper, radio, and other media outlets.
  4. Manage all aspects of athletics website content including scores, photos, and post-game recaps.
  5. Oversee all department social medial platforms including Facebook, X, and Instagram.
  6. Submit required CCAC and NAIA statistical data, photos, weekly nominations, and stories for website.
  7. Coordinate athletics department photography including head shots, action photos and team photos.
  8. Coordinate athletic event video stream productions including set up, monitoring, and take down.
  9. Promote and strengthen the brand of Viterbo athletics through messaging, marketing, and promotions.
  10. Produce all print and electronic publications including game day sheets and special event programs.
  11. Hire, train, and supervise student workers, interns, or others to assist with athletics communications
  12. Serve on Events, Communications and Operations (ECO) administrative planning team.
  13. Assist with planning signature athletic events including Wall of Fame, Golf Outing and VICTOR awards.
