Purpose of Position

The Coordinator of Athletics Marketing and Promotions will serve as marketing and promotional activities lead for assigned sports, while also assisting the Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and Promotions in all marketing and promotional activities for the remaining sports sponsored by

NKU

.

rules is of the utmost importance at Northern Kentucky University. As a member of the athletics department staff, it is expected that the Coordinator of Athletics Marketing and Promotions have a full understanding of the

NCAA

rules that pertain to the position.

It is also expected that the Coordinator of Athletics Marketing and Promotions comply with all

NCAA

rules and if he/she becomes aware, or have reasonable cause to believe, that a violation of a rule has occurred he/she will immediately report it to the Director of Athletics or his/her designee.

Primary Responsibilities

Responsibilities

:

1. Coordinate the execution of women’s basketball marketing and ticket sales campaigns; including attendance/ticket sales and game presentation.

2. Coordinate and oversee a student team in promoting awareness, attendance, and a positive fan experience for assigned sports.

3. Manage an undergraduate internship program for marketing and promotional needs.

4. Assist with game presentation for men’s basketball.

5. Manage assigned projects in support of Division of Athletics goals; collaborating with departments across the organization, including, but not limited to, corporate partnerships, ticket sales, gameday entertainment, and content creation.

6. Direct and coordinate community outreach activities involving public appearances by

NKU

Athletic administrators, coaches, student-athletes, spirit squads, and the mascot to promote a positive public relations and information service regarding

NKU

Athletics.

1. Produce, plan, edit, and create content for the athletics website, NKUNorse.com and all complementary social media sites (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.).

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree

One year equivalent of part-time experience in the area of Intercollegiate or professional athletics (teams, professional organizations, sports media companies, firms related to athletics)

Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and some holidays

Valid driver’s license with low risk driving record

Preferred Qualifications:

Master degree

Successful experience in a

NCAA

Division I Athletic Department working in Marketing, Game Presentation, or Corporate Sponsorship

Experience in graphic design working within templates
