Position Department: Athletics Administration

Position Type: Staff Part-Time

Overview:

The Coordinator of Corporate, Donor, Community Relations and Events position supports RMU Athletics in raising, stewarding, and growing private and corporate support for Colonial student-athletes. The role cultivates and stewards donors, services corporate partners, plans and executes department events, and builds lasting ties between RMU Athletics and the Pittsburgh community. This position is a front line ambassador for the department and helps convert community goodwill into sustained investment in student-athlete success.

Responsibilities:

  • Fundraising (approximately 30%) * Manage an assigned portfolio of annual fund donors and prospects, with a focus on acquisition, renewal, and upgrades. * Support annual giving campaigns, including Day of Giving, sport specific recurring giving campaigns, and Varsity Club appeals. * Conduct cultivation and solicitation visits, calls, and outreach in partnership with Madeline Menzie and development staff. * Use department events as cultivation and solicitation opportunities with key donors and prospects. * Track all contacts, gifts, and pledges in the university donor database and report progress toward goals.
  • Donor Stewardship (approximately 20%) * Develop and carry out a stewardship plan that thanks, recognizes, and reports impact to donors at every giving level. * Coordinate timely gift acknowledgments, impact reports, and personal touch points from coaches and student-athletes. * Plan donor recognition opportunities, including game day hospitality, behind the scenes experiences, and recognition listings. * Partner with student-athletes and SAAC on thank you initiatives that connect donors to the people they support.
  • Corporate Partnerships (approximately 15%) * Identify and cultivate local and regional businesses for sponsorship and partnership opportunities. * Service existing corporate partners, ensuring contractual benefits such as signage, hospitality, and promotions are delivered and documented. * Prepare proposals, partner recaps, and renewal materials in coordination with the department's multimedia rights holder, as applicable.
  • Community Relations (approximately 15%) * Coordinate student-athlete community service, school visits, youth clinics, and appearances. * Build relationships with civic organizations, chambers of commerce, schools, and alumni groups in the Pittsburgh region. * Represent RMU Athletics at community events and identify outreach that drives attendance, engagement, and giving. * Track and report community engagement hours and outcomes.
  • Events (approximately 20%) * Plan and execute signature athletics events, including golf outings, Tip Off, donor receptions, and community nights. * Manage event logistics, including budgets, timelines, venues, vendors, catering, invitations, and RSVPs. * Coordinate game day hospitality and premium experiences for donors and corporate partners. * Recruit and manage event volunteers and student-athlete participation. * Conduct post event evaluations, tracking attendance, revenue, and follow up actions.
