Job Summary:
The Coordinator, STJ Athletics- Ticket Office assists the Director of Ticket Operations in daily office activities and game day operations while bringing in revenue for the St. John’s University Athletics Department by selling tickets to the fans of our St. John’s sports teams for the Summer 2024.
Essential Functions:
Assist with answering telephones, faxing, filing correspondence, running errands on campus, stuffing envelopes, and making copies.
Greet office guests, answer questions, and direct to the proper individual(s).
Greet guests at the ticket windows and answer any questions they may have.
Take ticket orders over the phone or through the ticket office windows.
Sell the proper tickets to each fan on game days.
Perform other clerical duties or special projects as assigned.
Competencies:
Communication with customers and STJ Ticket Office staff members.
Ability to listen to directions.
Customer Service.
Time Management.
Multi-tasking.
Work Environment:
This position operates in a professional office environment; This position requires the use of standard office equipment such as personal computers, printers, fax machines, photocopier, card swipe technology, phones, Fed-Ex machine.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; move about; sit; to carry work and use controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; communicate. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 20 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the employee include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus, etc.
Environmental Conditions:
The work environment is in an office setting.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
The coordinator position for the STJ Athletics- Ticket Office is a temporary position for the Summer 2024 and the expected hours are 20 hours a week during work a week of Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Please note, occasionally, due to the nature of sporting events and Ticket Office operations, this position may occasionally require the STJ Ticket Office student worker to work hours in the evening/night or on a weekend or during breaks and holidays.
Travel:
Travel is primarily local at the STJ Queens Campus. However, travel to other sites via the student worker's personal transportation may be assigned by the supervisor to staff the STJ Ticket Office operations for an event.
Required Education and Experience:
High School Diploma.
A student enrolled in college (undergraduate or graduate).
Preferred Education and Experience:
Other Duties:
Good communication with fans and other staff members from St. John’s.
Good computer skills with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent communication skills and detail oriented.
Knowledge of St. John’s University Athletics Teams and Athletics Department staff.
Demonstrated ability to handle confidential matters and to be professional.
Ability to work well with others.
Willingness to tackle new projects.
Capability to work 20 hours per week.

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the hourly salary for this position is $16.00.
