Job Summary
The Cougar Club Specialist is a key member of the Athletic Department's Development Team. In addition to helping run Cougar Club's day-to-day operations and working with athletic donors at all levels, this position also coordinates critical hosting and hospitality functions at all home football games as well as other sporting events; oversees the Athletic Annual Scholarship program; assists with other Cougar Club events; and other duties as assigned.

Duties/Expectations :
1. Cougar Club Membership Management
-Manage Cougar Club member benefits, including creation, sourcing, and fulfillment.
-Oversee the onboarding process for new and/or upgrading members, ensuring gifts and swag are distributed on a timely and efficient basis.
-Determine and execute other touchpoints with members to drive value and connection (such as birthday acknowledgments, membership anniversaries, and monthly newsletters).
2. Events and Hosting
-Plan, coordinate and execute certain event plans including, but not limited to, communications, technical support, parking, invitations and RSVPs, venue, food, gifts, set up/take down, and staffing.
-Primary responsibility: Coordinate attendees - student-athletes and guests, donors, University administration, Athletic administration, and coaches at the following events:
-Scholarship dinner (annual dinner recognizing donors who sponsor specific student-athlete scholarships)
-Hall of Fame dinner (annual dinner recognizing certain student-athletes being inducted into BYU's Athletic Hall of Fame)
-Cougar Club luncheons (monthly lunch for Cougar Club members and guest to come on campus, eat a provided meal, and hear from student-athletes and coaches)
-Cougar Canyon (Cougar Club booth/presence as part of the football game day fan zone)
-Supporting responsibility: Cougar Club lunches, Fan Fest presence, Cougar Club targeted sporting events, annual football trip(s), Cougar Kick Off, 1st Pitch Dinner, etc.
-Football game day hospitality, with primary responsibility for one of the following (may be rotated year-to-year among other Cougar Club co-workers) - Cougar Club annual tent, Gridiron Grill (east side), or suites
3. Cougar Club Administrative Management
-Assist with day-to-day operations of the Cougar Club department.
-Assist in the annual membership renewal process.
-Participate in the ticket renewal process for football and men's basketball.
-Work with Cougar Club members to solicit contributions and gifts.
-Troubleshoot problems, resolve concerns, and create solutions.
-Communicate with Cougar Club members via phone, email, and social media to inform them on Cougar Club initiatives and answer questions.
4. Data Analytics and Membership Experience
-Utilize data to measure, track, and improve net promoter score (NPS) and retention rates.
-Develop and implement value, growth, and retention campaigns and initiatives based on analytical insights.
5. Special Projects and Other Duties
-Fundraising Special Projects, to include assisting in coordinating fundraising projects, events, and receiving and tracking donations
-Participate in communications and marketing efforts.
What Qualifies You to Apply?
Required :
-Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education/experience.
-Professional experience in fundraising, college athletics, event management/hospitality, business, sales, or other related field
-Willingness to uphold and live by the university's Honor Code
- All new employees who are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will be required to hold and be worthy to hold a current temple recommend, which may be verified during the application process.
Preferred :
-Master's Degree
-3 or more years professional experience in fundraising, college athletics, event management/hospitality, business, sales, or other related field
Employee Class: Staff (Full-Time)
Work Location: Provo Campus
Environment: Periodic exposure to unfavorable conditions. Need to be in variable temperatures or wet environments, etc.
