Job Summary
This position will be responsible for managing the social media platforms for multiple Olympic Sports' within BYU Athletics. That management includes the ideation, strategy and execution of creative content for said platforms. This position will work primarily with other social media strategists as well as video content creators, coaches/staffs, student-athletes, graphic designers, corporate sponsorships, marketing/fan experience, and communications to ideate and execute unique content for BYU Athletics while ensuring branding is consistent across all digital platforms. This position will also work on projects as assigned by its supervisor.

Skills needed to succeed in this role:
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills

-Up-to-date knowledge of and experience with all social media platforms including Facebook, X, Instagram, Tiktok, Threads, and YouTube
-An ability to quickly recognize social media trends and how they apply to BYU
-An ability to work closely and effectively with coaches and student-athletes

What You'd Be Responsible For
-Develop and execute creative content and social media strategy for assigned Olympic Sports
-Execute "gameday" responsibilities for BYU Athletics
-Create content that showcases BYU's student-athletes, coaches, and staff¿s accomplishments, unique backgrounds, and experiences
-Work with supervisor as well as coaches and staff to develop recruiting strategy as it pertains to social media
-Work with supervisor, video content creators, graphic designers, corporate sponsorships, fan experience, and communications to develop and execute creative content that fits the social media strategy of BYU Athletics while elevating external messaging
-Ensure branding, messaging and strategy is consistent across all Athletic department platforms
-Assist in the development of the BYU brand and creative content strategy
-Assist student-athletes in building their personal brands and their unique social media strategy
-Assist in mentoring and developing student employees
-Monitor the social media landscape for potential opportunities and issues regarding BYU Athletics
-Research best industry practices to implement at BYU
-Complete assignments under strict time constraints
-Analyze and track campaign and individual content performance metrics
What Qualifies You to Apply?
Required :
-One year of related experience in athletics, social media management and/or creative content production
-Willingness to uphold and live by the university's Honor Code
- All new employees who are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will be required to hold and be worthy to hold a current temple recommend, which may be verified during the application process.
Preferred :
-Bachelor's degree in a related field
-Two or more years of related experience in athletics, social media management and/or creative content production
