The Rutgers Division of Intercollegiate Athletics sponsors 24 intercollegiate sports, comprised of 14 women’s and 10 men’s programs, that compete at the Division I level. The Scarlet Knights are members of the prestigious Big Ten Conference, the nation’s premier academic and athletic conference, after officially joining the league on July 1, 2014. Known as “The Birthplace of College Football, Rutgers hosted Princeton on Nov. 6, 1869 in the first intercollegiate football game, with RU earning a 6-4 victory.
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Creative Video Specialist for the Athletics Marketing and Communications department.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
Executes brand Advancement and video strategy.
Produces, shoots, and edits video content that generates revenue through ticket sales, merchandising and donations, while also increasing the Athletic Department’s visibility through larger social media audiences, impressions and engagements.
Uses FS7 camera to shoot various competitions.
Produces multiple video highlights for each game within 24 hours, as well as longer slow-motion cinematic recaps for bigger wins.
Onboards and trains interns to shoot and edit game highlights and feature content; provides feedback after they produce content.
Brings student workers to game and media day shoots to shadow.
Helps set student worker schedules and assign tasks.
Leads intro video production for various Olympic sport programs.
Collaborates with Communications, Marketing and coaches to brainstorm themes and storyboard video, managing logistics with Facilities and working with outside vendors to secure necessary lighting and backdrops.
Archives all notable video clips into one condensed file (for each shoot) to be uploaded to our Box folder, so that other department staff members and our student interns can easily access notable clips for current and future projects.

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, broadcasting, communications or related field or experience working in an NCAA Division I Athletic Department or equivalent of professional level.

| Certifications/Licenses |
- A valid driver’s license would be required for this position; Use of personal vehicle in order to travel for business demands.

| Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities |
- Experience in sports production, equipment setup and troubleshooting.
- Solid grasp of all things technical.
- Experience with cinema-style cameras and lenses.
- Advanced knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects and Photoshop.
- Ability to work under time constraints and meet assigned deadlines.
- Ability to operate under tight windows.
- Ability to digest and prioritize tasks in order of importance to deliver results, while staying up-to-date on the latest video trends and industry changes.
- Ability to conceptualize, design and create video materials with an understanding of specific audiences.
