Job Description

The Head Cross Country Running Coach serves as the primary coach of the Landmark College Cross Country Running Team (coed) and works extensively with the Athletics Department, students, faculty and staff, and other individuals to lead a Cross Country Running program committed to excellence and integrity in both collegiate athletics as well as academics.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Provide a safe, engaging learning environment for student-athletes of all abilities.
  • Recruit, instruct, and coach members of the Cross-Country Running team.
  • Organize and train student-athletes during all scheduled practices and games.
  • Work with the College to monitor the academic and social progress of athletes.
  • Help find appropriate level competition and athletic contests for athletic events.
  • Help maintain shared or sport specific athletic facilities and equipment.
  • Promote games and team activities to the Landmark community.
  • Assist with the development and evaluation of policy and procedures for student athletes.
  • Establish community relationships that promote the athletics program as well as the college.
  • Assist with game and event operations to assure facility preparations, safety, and positive behaviors of staff and spectators.
  • Required to attend all formal practices and competitive events.
  • Supervise and assign responsibilities of assistant coach.
  • Plan comprehensive pre- and post-season conditioning activities.
