Position: Cross Country/Track and Field Assistant Coach

Manchester University seeks a dedicated and knowledgeable Cross Country & Track & Field Assistant Coach (Throws) to join our Athletics team. Reporting to the Director of Cross Country and Track & Field, this position is responsible for supporting all aspects of the program, with a primary focus on the throwing events. The successful candidate will bring energy, integrity, and a passion for developing student-athletes both on and off the field.

What You'll Do:

• Instruct and mentor student-athletes in Cross Country and Track & Field techniques, with an emphasis on throws.

• Design and implement individualized training and workout plans.

• Teach physical health, safety, and team concepts.

• Lead academic support initiatives for student-athletes.

• Coach practices and competitions, ensuring compliance with NCAA, HCAC, and university regulations.

• Maintain appropriate records, office hours, and communication with the athletic department.

• Represent Manchester University Athletics with professionalism and positivity.

What You'll Need: 

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.

• Previous coaching experience in throws required.

• Strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

• CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain).

• Valid driver’s license required.

• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
